Yes, depending on your model. Some models have a smart connect rule, like ASUS or Netgear. You could just enable both radio bands and use the same ssid and password for both.
If older devices work with 2.4 Ghz only I would recommend broadcasting 2 SSIDs. For example – 2.4 Ghz could be NetworkName and the 5 Ghz could be NetworkName5. You connect all your old devices or those that can’t see the 5 Ghz to the 2.4 Ghz network and then all those compatible with the 5 Ghz to the 5 Ghz (of course). So now your 5Ghz devices will remain on the fast and reliable Wireless network but do not worry all your devices will be connected to the network. Another example: a NAS connected to the router via Ethernet cable can be seen by a TV connected to the 2.4 Ghz and also a tablet/phone connected to the 5 Ghz. All devices can ‘talk’ to each other regardless of Wireless network name (SSID) or frequency (2.4 and 5) as long as they are connected to the same router and on the same VLAN (for home users no need to bother with VLAN unless advanced).
